Trade Rules

Every Pokémon we sell is delivered through a normal in-game trade, so the Pokémon GO trading rules apply to every order. Please read this page before you buy, especially the Stardust section. It is the most common surprise for first-time buyers.

Basic requirements

  • Level 10+: both trainers must be level 10 or higher.
  • Friends: we must be friends in the game. We send you a friend request after you pay.
  • Within 100 m: a trade only works when both trainers are within 100 m of each other in the game. That is why we ask you to share your approximate location on the order page. We come to you.
  • 1-for-1: every trade is one Pokémon for one Pokémon. You simply offer any common Pokémon in return.

Special Trades

The game counts a trade as a Special Trade when the Pokémon is:

  • Shiny
  • Legendary
  • Mythical (the ones that can be traded)
  • An Ultra Beast
  • Gigantamax
  • Purified
  • Not yet registered in the receiver’s Pokédex

Almost everything in our shop is shiny or legendary, so nearly every order is a Special Trade. Special Trades have two extra rules:

  • You and our account must be at least Good Friends. Opening the gift we send you takes care of this.
  • Each player can do only 1 Special Trade per day (events can raise this limit). An order with 3 shinies takes 3 days.

Stardust cost

Both players pay Stardust for every trade. The cost depends on your friendship level, whether it is a Special Trade, and whether the species is already registered in your Pokédex.

Friendship (days of interaction) Normal trade, species registered Special Trade, species registered Special Trade, species NOT registered
Good Friend (1 day) 100 20,000 1,000,000
Great Friend (7 days) 100 16,000 800,000
Ultra Friend (30 days) 100 1,600 80,000
Best Friend (90 days) 100 800 40,000

A normal trade of a species that is not yet registered in your Pokédex costs 20,000 / 16,000 / 1,600 / 800 Stardust at Good / Great / Ultra / Best Friend.

The game always shows the exact cost before you confirm, and the numbers can change during events.

Check your Pokédex before you order. If the species is not registered yet, a Special Trade at Good Friend costs 1,000,000 Stardust. Most new buyers are Good Friends with us at trade time, so plan for 20,000 Stardust when the species is already registered.

Not enough Stardust?

If the species is not in your Pokédex and you don’t have 1,000,000 Stardust, you can choose to let us hold the Pokémon for you while our friendship grows. We send you a gift every day, and we trade once we reach Ultra Friend (80,000 Stardust) or Best Friend (40,000 Stardust). Just tell us in your order chat.

What changes after a trade

Kept: shiny, species and form, costume, location or special background, level, moves and size (XXL/XXS).

Changed: the game re-rolls the IVs, so the CP changes too. A traded Pokémon can never be traded again.

IV floor after a trade

The new IVs are random, but each of the three IVs (Attack, Defense, HP) has a minimum value that depends on your friendship level:

Friendship Minimum for each IV
Good Friend 1
Great Friend 2
Ultra Friend 3
Best Friend 5
Lucky trade 12

We do not guarantee IVs after the trade. Photos and IVs shown on our site are from before the trade. The new IVs are decided randomly by the game.

Product photos

Some product photos are illustrative art. Listings marked real photo show the actual Pokémon you will receive.

What cannot be traded

  • Shadow Pokémon
  • Most Mythical Pokémon
  • Pokémon defending a gym
  • Your buddy Pokémon
  • Fusion forms

This also applies to the common Pokémon you offer in return, so pick one that is not your buddy and not defending a gym.

Remote Trade

Since December 2025, Pokémon GO allows Remote Trade between trainers with a very high friendship level. PogoAzo does not use Remote Trade yet. Every order is delivered with a regular trade within 100 m.

Checklist for trade time

  • Your account is level 10+
  • You accepted our friend request and opened our gift
  • You have enough Stardust for the trade
  • You have a common Pokémon ready to offer
  • Your order page is open and your location is shared
  • The game is open and you are online
